Cat Power

With Julia Jacklin Feb 9 and Angie McMahon Feb 10

Celebrate 25 years of Cat Power at Zoo Twilights. The acclaimed songwriter and producer Chan Marshall is back in Australia for the first time since 2016, playing songs from her tenth album, ‘Wanderer’ and her rich back catalogue. Described as “a remarkable return from an iconic American voice,” the new record includes first single, “Woman,” featuring Lana Del Rey, and a cover of Rihanna’s “Stay”, interpreted on piano in a way only Cat Power can. Hearing it as the sun sets over Melbourne Zoo will be an unforgettable moment.

Unfortunately Jen Cloher is no longer available for the Cat Power Australian tour, including the Zoo Twilights shows on Saturday February 9 and Sunday February 10.

Julia Jacklin will now join Cat Power on February 9. Julia Jacklin’s highly anticipated new record, ‘Crushing’, comes out later this month. She earned critical acclaim and an army of fans around the world for her 2016 debut record, ‘Don’t Let the Kids Win’. We’ll hear selections from both albums when she takes to the Twilights stage.

On February 10, Angie McMahon will now join Cat Power at Zoo Twilights.  The Melbourne-based artist has been touring steadily, supporting the likes of Alanis Morissette and Father John Misty, and we’re stoked that she is stopping in at Zoo Twilights before heading off for her first American tour later this year.

Fee B Squared will be playing from 5.30pm when gates open on Saturday 9 and DJ People on Saturday 10.

All proceeds help Zoos Victoria fight to save the Eastern Barred Bandicoot from extinction.
